18th Annual Empire State Competition (2017)
Junior High, High School, and Collegiate Competitions

NYSMTA encourages member and non-member teachers to consider entering their accomplished students in the 18th Annual Empire State Competitions, which are
to take place on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Nazareth College in Rochester, NY. The competitions are open to junior high school, high school and collegiate students in voice, piano and instrumental categories.

Eligibility:
​
Any New York State junior high school student (grades 7-9), NYS high school student (grades 10-12), or NYS college student (not yet 27 years old as of October 1, 2017) is eligible. Entrant must be a New York State resident or a resident student attending a school in New York State. Teacher membership in NYSMTA is not required. Please note: 2017 Empire State Competition entrants are NOT eligible to compete in the concurrent 2017 MTNA competitions.
